Making Money

Well hello there... again. It has been quite some time since I last wrote anything. Great things continue to happen at Voltage, and I wish my brother Seth well in his work there. Today's blog has nothing to do with Voltage but my own thoughts. Some of my thoughts have decided to leak themselves onto this blog.
Currently I am working at Walmart as a Receiving Associate in Chubbuck, Idaho. Very exciting work, and a nice little workout to get paid for. That's right I am such a professional, that people pay me to flex my muscles. I get paid $8.10 per hour minus what the government takes which is about $100 from each paycheck. Making money isn't what I do there, it's not in the contract. Everyone wants to make money so what am I doing there? Getting fit. However, I would like to make money some day because money is power. Money opens up doors to new and exciting worlds. So I have thought how can I make money and lots of it? How am I going to do that? Well who in this world makes money and how do they do it?
A few key names come to mind such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, and two of the Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin. How do they make money? They make their money with technology. I love technology I can surely make money in it right? So I am currently working on being a great web designer. In a few years I will be living in the Florida Keys in my 5 million dollar house driving million dollar cars... well only time can tell right? Though it's not impossible, I think I need to have a little better positive mental attitude to accomplish it. So back to my quest of making money. I have considered what I love. I love music, and I have always wanted to teach music and I am still considering it. However all of the rich guys I named are getting their money from technology not teaching music. So what other ways can I make money? There are a few people who have made the big bucks in other venues.
Two of which are great men who I have had the privilege to meet in person, and they are Donald Trump and Glenn Beck. How often do you see those two names in collaboration? Not too much sadly. I admire them both. They both share a wonderful opinion of which I am fond of. They have both in a way said that the way to make money is to not think of the money, but to think of what you can offer to the world. How can you serve others and make that your first priority? If you can do that, you can make money doing it. Well I haven't decided on my answer yet but that has been my top question to answer as of late. How can I serve the world? How can I really help those around me, in a very broad sense? Today I helped clean up at a breakfast that was being served to the community before a church service. It felt great. I helped someone. That is my current goal is to help anyone and everyone I can around me. Hopefully in the near future, my service will align with my ability to support myself and my future family.

    I will keep you posted.

A New View

TAKE a quick look at this collage and what do you see? Could this all be the same building? How about the same office space? What is different about the photos? Is there any difference between the top two and the bottom three? Look closely.

Anything?

If you said they are the same building you are correct.

Same office space though?

Not quite.

What is different? If you said windows then you got it.

Voltage Advertising has a new view three floors up in the same building with windows and a balcony. The new Voltage office space change can be best seen with the picture on the right.

This change has happened within the last few weeks. The crew has been making the office space their own with new gray paint on the interior, sheets of metal, and a red bolt. The plan is to create a large metal Voltage sign on the outside wall that will make viewers see the building and decide that the entire building is Voltage Advertising. The hope is that future conversation by a stander-by will be, "right next to the Voltage building..."

Having windows has to be better than working in a basement. This new view from the top is encouraging I'm sure. New perspectives, high hopes, fantastic dreams. Everyone agree? To be cliche, Voltage Advertising is moving up in the world.

AD

ARCHIDRUMMER is a portmanteau combining two words that I am fascinated in. I have considered being an architect and a drummer. Hey there and welcome to my blog. I am Jake Lofgreen, a student at BYU-Idaho. Architecture is beautiful and much of it awe-inspiring. Designing structures that will be the home to people or businesses is just wonderful. Playing the drums is satisfying to me. Music can help relax the mind, just try listening to Jason Mraz, Kings of Leon, and Paramore. This blog is titled ArchiDrummer not for lack of choices but to reference the author's background. As much as I enjoy talking about myself, this blog is not about me. Giving you a brief background about myself is to give you the reader context. This blog's purpose is to give exclusive insight about what's happening at Voltage, an electrifying advertising group in Louisville, Colorado. The group of ten individuals spend each day designing for websites, iPhone apps, mobile sites, e-mail marketing, and catalogs. Come with me and lets have a look inside Voltage.
